A Crushed Ice Update

So we've been busy!  We can't apologize enough for our blogging delay.  Here's a full update of what we've been up to.

Crushed Ice Events is of course the in house Catering Company to The Ice House, but did you know we offer Off-Site Catering as well?  Most people don't!  We've been dedicated lately into growing our company name in the Louisville community.  Below is a list of some fabulous events and programs we were lucky to be a part of.

But first, we have to mention that Louisville Magazine listed us as "The Face of Special Event Planners" in their October Issue.  We are so proud of our hardworking staff!  We'd also like to welcome Annie as our new Crushed Ice Coordinator.

July & August 2014

The American Cancer Socitey's "Celebrate the Sweet Life" Event at Mellwood Arts Center was a great event for Crushed Ice Events to be a part of.  We served up our Yeast Peanut Butter Donuts with Berry Compote.

The Kentucky & Southern Indiana Stroke Association held their Annual Extravaganza Tasting Event at The Olmsted.  Our Catering Coordinators served up our Creamy Weisenberger Mill Grits with Sorghum & Peach Glazed Rock Shrimp, Local Arugula & Spiced Pecans.  It was such an honor to be part of a night that was dedicated to such a fabulous organization, as well as hearing the heartfelt and encouraging stories from stroke survivors in the Louisville area.

September 2014

Our Executive Chef Laurence Agnew has taken part in several cooking competitions including the  Big Green Egg Chicken & Pork Competition where we placed with our Root Beer Brined Chicken & Honey Bourbon Pork with Apple Cider BBQ.  Yum!

Agnew also participated in the  Heritage BBQ Feast at 21c.

Finally, Chef took home First Place at The Kentucky State Fair's Cast Iron Chef Competition.  Congratulations Larry!

October 2014

The Ice House hosted the Annual Reader's Choice event for Leo N Focus!  Louisville has such amazing restaurants, not to mention the Bourbon Distilleries.  Thanks Four Roses for being here!

Yelp Louisville's Art in Action Event at the Tim Faulkner Gallery in Portland was such a success.  Guests loved our Smoked Bourbon Sundae with Comfy Cow's Boubon Ball Ice Cream, Cardamom Caramel Sauce, a Sorghum Cookie, and topped with some Cherry Smoke.  Mmmmm!  We can't wait to work at the Faulkner Gallery again.  What a neat space!

We hope you were all lucky enough to visit Resurfaced, the Pop Up Plaza on Main St. through September & October.  What a fun time!  We served up our Black Rice & Pork Belly Stew with Hoisin & Ginger, Doner Kebabs with Beef Brisket & Cabbage Slaw, as well as our Famous Smoked Bourbon Sundae! Great music, great food, great beer in an awesome, unique event space.  Louisville is just the coolest!  We're so proud to be a part of such an exciting town.

We are in full swing of our Wedding Season so keep a look out for our posts!  The Holiday Season is upon us, so contact a Crushed Ice Coordinator today for all your holiday catering needs.
